As a busy mom, I know it can be really tough to find time to get to the gym some days for a workout. You had to work late. Or your kiddo(s) are sick and you can’t bring them to the gym with you. Maybe you’ve just got too many things going on and time slips away. All of a sudden it’s 10 pm and you never made it to the gym that day. Because, you know, life.

So many options!

The good news is that there are options. Body-weight workouts are great ways to get a decent workout in at home where equipment and space are usually lacking. Circuits are one of my favorite ways to get a quick yet effective workout at home. You can also see my post 9 Free Ways to Workout (without a gym membership) for more great ideas.

Circuits

The trick to circuit workouts is to keep moving to get that heart rate up and keep it up so your cardiovascular system can really get a workout. I like to do 3-4 rounds of circuits. You can do more or less depending on how much time you have or how hard you want to work. Speed makes a difference as well. The faster you go the harder you will work. Be sure to get some water in between circuits. You’ll need it because these circuits will sure make you sweat! Try to have a hand towel nearby also so you can wipe your face as needed. Sweat in your eye never feels good!

The Workout

Circuit One

Push-ups – 5 sets 30 reps

Bench Dips – 5 sets 30 Reps

Wall Sit – 5 sets 45 seconds

Russian Twists – 5 sets 30 rep

Circuit Two

Plank – 5 sets 60 seconds

Flutter Kicks – 5 sets 30 reps

Diamond Push-Ups – 5 sets 30 reps

Bodyweight Squat – 5 sets 30 reps

Circuit Three

Mountain Climbers – 5 sets 30 reps

Calf Raises –  5 sets 30 reps

Shadow Boxing (uppercut) – 5 sets – 30 reps

Bodyweight Lunge – 5 sets 30 reps each leg

Repeat 3-4 times!

Part of why I love this workout is that it’s super quick, effective, AND quiet. I can’t tell you how many times I grabbed a quick at-home workout after I put my son to bed at night. The house we live in now is bigger but that apartment was small. His room was right on the other side of the wall of the living room so I had to keep the noise down. Plus with people living next to and above us I wanted to be respectful as well late at night.

I hope you enjoy it! Leave a comment if you try it and what you think!
